If you've used the Meetric Chrome extension in a Google Meet, you probably very quickly thought 'I wish I could use this in my other video calls as well!'.
Well, in fact -- you can!
It just has to be in the browser version of the app you are using as opposed to the desktop version which you might have downloaded.
Below are step-by-step guides to using the Meetric extension in some popular video conference tools, but similar steps can be taken with any non-Google Meet video conferencing tool.
How to use the Meetric extension with Zoom:
Step 1: Click the video link from your calendar or in Meetric
Step 2: It will load first in your browser. If you see this message click cancel. If it loads the Zoom app, close it.
Step 3: Click Launch Meeting. (The same pop-up may come up -- cancel again. If Zoom app opens again, close it again.)
Step 4: Now, you'll notice a new line showing on the page that allows you to Join from your browser. Click that.
Step 5: When the page loads (sign in if you need to), and click the Meetric icon from your Chrome extension bar in the top right of the screen to open the side-panel
You may not have all the bells and whistles of the Zoom app, but far more importantly you can take notes without needing to switch screens or lose track of the conversation. If you want to be able to see any guests obscured by the panel, you can make it transparent with the button on the top left of the extension.
